Welcome to our revamped website. We hope you like it and find it really easy to navigate. The slide show on the home page is excellent and we’ll be changing images periodically to give you fabulous close-ups of our boxes. Keep a close eye on our website at the end of April for a very special surprise that we are bursting to tell you more about, but are sworn to secrecy, and may be beheaded or even worse if we tell you more. We are now selling hardware – hinges, catches, locks – online. Other good news is that our Steps box sold via Dansel Gallery and we are going to be busy over Easter creating a replacement.

We are delighted to be including Burford Woodcraft in Oxfordshire, England as a gallery that sells our bespoke boxes. Jayne, the proprietor, now has a small stock of our Furnace Boxes which are ideal for holding small items of jewellery and other keepsakes. We plan to create a very special Oak box for Jayne to display at her high street gallery. We now display our bespoke boxes in three main galleries – The Designyard, Dublin - The Dansel Gallery, Dorset in England and Burford Woodcraft, Oxfordshire. We also sell directly to customers who would like a bespoke box specially tailored to their needs.

It’s now February 2011 and this continues to be a busy period as we send some boxes to a new Gallery in England – Dansel. Danielle has been lovely to work with and is now displaying our Steps box. Our Upwards box which was at the Designyard sold over Christmas and so we’re planning an Art Deco influenced Yew Box as a replacement. We are also producing another magazine article to appear in the coming months and have a very special commission to create for a very lucky couple, and you can follow our progress on Facebook…

From October through to December 2010 there was a real Christmas buzz to the requests for jewellery boxes. Two of the Christmas gifts were very large boxes, one of which was to be French polished so we had to be well organised to have them ready on time and avoid the chaos caused by the snow. Our ring boxes are selling very well through the Designyard in Dublin and we have introduced our new furnace box for rings or trinkets which is being very well received. We will be contacting a few select galleries in the New Year to hold our work and will let you know how it goes. We also have an article on our Steps box appearing in Good Woodworking in January 2011, so a promising start to the New Year beckons – we wish you all a Happy New Year!

I have been asked by quite a few boxmakers who are finding it difficult to source nickel-plated box hardware, to sell them, so I have decided to offer the following hardware sets for sale from this website – either 2 hinges, 1 lock, 2 keys, and escutcheon, or 2 hinges and a catch. Either type will also include 2 sets of 8BA machine screws, a drill bit (one per order), and delivery in the UK for £20 per set. Delivery to Europe or outside the EU may cost slightly more.
The hinges are side rail hinges, which are basically a lightweight version of the brass ones supplied by Woodcraft in the USA http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2001043/3172/Hinges-Side-Rail-wStay-2.aspx
